Knitters were first believed to have begun their craft in the first few centuries AD. In this article, I will attempt to explain some of the basic knitting stitches and everything they encompass.
This is my version of instructions for the two basic knitting stitches but I have found that it is hard to use a few written instructions. Although they are mirror images in form, right- and left-plaited stitches are functionally equivalent. For afghans, my personal favorite is the circular needle.
Cable needles are a special case of dpns, although they usually are not straight, but dimpled in the middle. Now wind your yarn over cross of two needles, over the right hand needle. Other tools are used to prepare yarn for knitting, to measure and design knitted garments, or to make knitting easier or more comfortable.
So, if you want to slow down, and find meaning in your life again, try knitting. Knit it like you would knit any stitch.
